Mushroom Capsicum Vegetable Gravy-Veg Side Dish Gravy.))))))

Hello Friends!!


First a very Happy New Year 2015!!!!!!!!Hope you all had a wonderful new year celebration..

Today we are going to see Mushroom Capsicum Vegetable Gravy.As i have said earlier i am a Mushroom lover. And Mushroom has lots of health benefits and i have mentioned them in my previous post -Mushroom Pulao.

I make this gravy when i make Chappathi/Roti and sometimes i make this as a side dish gravy for Jeera Rice. My husband also loves this dish and trust me Capsicum flavour tastes great with mushrooms.The blending of capsicum and mushrooms gives a different taste and it is really yummy!!!!!!!!!!!

Serving                  :     2 People

Cooking Time       :    15 Mins

Ingredients:

1.)Olive Oil                -   2 Teaspoons (Normal Big spoon)(Ref my measurements)

2.)Onion                    -1 cup chopped(Ref my measurements)

3.)Tomato                 -1 cup chopped (Ref my measurements)

4.)Capsicum             -1 cup chopped (Ref my measurements)

5.)Mushrooms         -1 cup chopped (Ref my measurements)

6.)Tomato Ketchup-1 teaspoon (Normal Big spoon)(Ref my measurements)

7.)Salt                     -As required

8.)Chilli Powder    -As required

9.)Cumin Powder  -1 teaspoon (Normal Big spoon)(Ref my measurements)

10.)Garam Masala-1 teaspoon (Normal Big spoon)(Ref my measurements)

11.)Chaat Masala -A pinch

12.)Ginger           -One small piece

13.)Curry Leaves-As required

14.)Coriander Leaves-As required

15.)Green Chiilies-As required

16.)Water             -As required

17.)Sambhar Powder-Half a teaspoon(Normal spoon)(Ref my measurements)



Method:

1.)Saute olive oil in a pan .



2.)Add the chopped onions and fry them till they turn pink.


3.)Now add the chopped tomatoes and the ginger piece and fry them.


4.)Add the chopped capsicum and mix it well.


5.)Now add all the powder ingredients from 9 to 11 and mix them well.



6.)Add water and make a consistency where mushrooms can be immersed half in a gravy texture.


7.)Now add chopped mushrooms(Here i have used button mushrooms only,i think it tastes better in gravy stuff all).


8.)Mix it well and mushrooms should be immersed half. And add the tomato ketchup at this stage.



9.)Add chopped green chillies,corainder leaves,sambhar powder/curry powder and curry leaves and mix the whole gravy well. For sambhar powder/curry powder refer my post below.



10.)Mix the whole gravy well and after adding mushrooms , you keep checking the gravy because mushrooms get cooked very fast. 



Now Hot and Tasty Mushroom Capsicum Vegetable Gravy is ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note:

1.)Do not add salt after adding mushrooms as they have the tendency of catching salt very quickly. If you clean the mushrooms in salt water check the salt and then add because while washing itself mushrooms will catch salt .

2.)If you want you can add potato to this gravy.

3.)You can follow the same process in microwave owen also.Just after keeping the mushrooms,keep only 10 mins while closing the lid.

4.)When you taste this, you will get a closer taste to chettinad dishes.

5.)If you want a strong flavour, you can add garlic to this.

Serve this gravy with Roti/Chappathi or Jeera Rice or just steamed basmati rice!!!!!!!!!!!!
